S3FOOD is a INNOSUP funded project on digital innovation in agrifood. Recently a public call was issued by the S3FOOD Platform, aimed at supporting SMEs operating in the food industry in accelerating their digital transformation. 

Eligibility conditions are restricted to firms that either members of one of the S3FOOD partner organisations or have an established base within the S3FOOD territorial scope - Belgium, Denmark, France (Auvergne-Rhõne-Alpes, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Provence Alpes Cote d’Azur and Bretagne), Germany, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands and Spain (Principado de Asturias, La Comunidad Foral de Navarra and Galicia).

The SME applicants must be active in one of the following categories:

a. Food production and processing chain;

b. Digital solution providers (sensor producers, system integrators, ICT solutions, etc.); 

c. Process technology providers (machinery, packaging, etc.) 

The new public call is aimed at providing a voucher of max 60.000 EUR for each applicant. Services to be funded with the voucher, must support the connection between food processing SMEs with specialist providers of innovative digital solutions. One of the goals is to create a network of living labs to facilitate cross-sectoral and cross-border innovation. 

The total funding of the call is €1.317.867 budget.

Three types of voucher are available:
1. Exploration voucher: €15,000 per SME
1st stage testing and feasibility analysis of a digital concept for future development
2. Validation voucher: €120,000 per project
Validation of a digital solution to a selected food sector challenge in a realistic environment
3. Application voucher: €180,000 per project
Implementation of a new digital solution at a food production site
